Australian Made week is here again. Now in its fifth year, the campaign highlights the importance of supporting the local economy with all Australians urged to support local makers and growers. Why only a week?? We’re not sure either. As a country, we should be supporting the businesses that keep our friends and family employed as often as possible.
Our little company, Bright Viper Pty Ltd, that simply sells Fuel Doctor is Very Aussie! All owners are local to Brisbane’s Western Suburbs. Okay, two were born across the ditch but they’ve lived and worked in Australia over 30 years, so that makes them pretty Aussie. And being in Brisbane’s west is how we found out about Fuel Doctor. We’d met local car enthusiast and Fuel Doctor’s creator, Steve Marriott, through track days and car shows.
So is Fuel Doctor Aussie? 100%!! Steve himself was born in the UK (we forgive him) but has been in Australia since the 1980s. In 1996 he (along with an industrial chemist partner) developed Fuel Doctor as a way to clean inaccessible fuel tanks. It was later discovered that the product he’d developed and been working with on an industrial scale was also the best small-scale, in-vehicle treatment available to treat fuel bug and condensation problems in cars, trucks, boats, and anything else that uses petrol, diesel, or 2-stroke fuels.
The rest is 30+ years of history. So yes, Fuel Doctor has been made in a small factory right here in Western Brisbane for over 30 years, and Steve still uses the product daily to clean tanks that his team can’t physically get inside to clean.
